Landing Library

The Landing School Library is designed to accommodate the needs of third through fifth grade students. The collection is reflective of the Glen Cove curriculum and the New York State English Language Arts standards. The goal of the library program is for children to be self-sufficient in any library setting, to build their technology skills, to instill a love of quality children's literature, and to foster an enjoyment of reading.

Each class visits the library once a week for 40 minutes. The students learn about various authors and illustrators, develop research and reference skills, become familiar with biographies, use our computerized book cataloging system, and have an opportunity to borrow books.  Students are encouraged to choose books of their interests as well as quality fiction and nonfiction.

We look forward to meeting you throughout the year! Please visit our library and see what we can offer your child!
